Bork and Chef, our 8 week old kitten siblings, purr the moment they even *think* someone is going to pet them. They are probably the most optimistic kittens and always assume food and affection are just around the corner (they are right). We would love for Bork and Chef to find a home together - preferably with someone willing to give out frequent chin scratches.

Found stray and very ill, Bork and Chef were brought to a local emergency vet. Since they were found in a county without any cat services, the emergency vet asked us for help. Although we are a dog rescue, we are staunch kitten fans, so we happily took them in.

Both Bork and Chef had severe eye and upper respiratory infections likely due to feline herpes. After weeks of antibiotics and antivirals, they now feel great. Chef's right cornea has some scarring but he can see just fine and his eye doesn't hurt. Just like human herpes, feline herpes is for life, so both kittens could have mild flares in the future. They could also be contagious to other cats; if the cats are adults and vaccinated, the illness would be mild.

Bork, the female kitten, is a little more reserved than Chef. She is cuddly and affectionate but may want to watch from the sidelines before joining in. Chef, the male, is bold and funny and happily head-butts the dogs in his foster home. Both kittens are friendly to people and other animals.

Bork and Chef have been spayed/neutered, are microchipped, dewormed, and are current on their flea preventatives. They are both FeLV/FIV negative. Bork and Chef will need vaccines every 3 weeks until they are 16 weeks old, so their adopter should make those appointments now.
