About Keno
Personality: Affectionate, Funny, Friendly, Playful, Loves, Gentle, Brave
Keno, our 10 year old 12 pound terrier mix, is named after the lottery game. It's an odd name because taking a chance on Keno is no gamble: this guy is a sure bet! Our (nearly) perfect terrier is ready to put all of his cards on the table and find his family.
Found stray, Keno's microchip clued us in on his name and age. Sadly, however, it didn't help find his owner. The shelter asked us to help because Keno needed a dental and a general sprucing up. Although he lost several rotten teeth, you can bet that his breath smells a whole lot better.
We aren't exaggerating when we say that Keno is nearly perfect. He is crate trained, leash trained, and is a fan all other dogs (even on leash). Keno also really loves people. Having never met a stranger, Keno showers everyone in kisses as soon as he's introduced (something you can only get away with as a dog). Keno is 95% house trained, which is better than a lot of people we know.
Keno is such a fan of squeaky toys that he happily entertains himself with them for hours. Once exhausted, Keno will use that same squeaky toy as a pillow. We haven't seen Keno with cats, but we can't imagine him not liking anyone. As always, a slow introduction is recommended. Keno loves walks as much as he loves cuddles and we think he'd do as great with kids as he does adults.
Keno is heartworm negative and current on his flea and heartworm preventatives.
Did you know the game Keno likely originates from a Chinese game called "White Dove Tickets"? That's admittedly a bad name for a dog (but a pretty good name for an Emo band).
