About Tucker

Personality: Affectionate, Friendly, Funny, Gentle, Playful, Loves

When Tucker, our 3 year old 17 pound terrier mix, was found stray, the shelter worried that his jaw was broken. His tongue lolls to one side and he just looks a bit wonky. As it turns out, Tucker is just (adorably) asymmetrical. Sure, his jaw is very left of midline, but Tucker can eat just fine. And since his tongue is always hanging out, Tucker is able to pick up any crumb left behind.

Friendly and affectionate, Tucker is a crowd pleaser. Although it takes him a bit to warm up, once he does, he's confident and cuddly. Tucker will want to take his time exploring his new space before he's comfortable in every room. "Safety First" is his motto.

Tucker is good on a leash and enjoys other small dogs. Big dogs are a "maybe" for him. We have not seen Tucker with cats but can do an introduction if needed. Primarily, Tucker likes human company and likes to follow his person from room to room. Potty trained (with the occasional marking accident- improving now that he's neutered), crate trained and not destructive, Tucker is a nearly perfect house guest.

Tucker's ideal adopter will provide him with a collection of small squeaky toys. He feels best when carrying one with him everywhere. If Tucker forgets his toy when he goes outside, he will immediately run back in to retrieve it. We wonder if he does this to highlight his crooked smile.

Tucker is heartworm negative and is current on his flea and heartworm preventatives.

Are you tired of using the toilet by yourself? Are you wondering how to get all those cake crumbs off the floor? Would your life be better with just a bit more squeaking?
