About Jim
Personality: Affectionate, Athletic, Brave, Curious, Friendly, Funny, Playful
Oh to have the zest for life that Jim, our 48 pound Golden Retriever, has. We don't think Jim as ever been in a bad mood. He wakes up every day totally jazzed for what's to come. And Jim doesn't even know the best bit yet! Wait until he learns we found him his own family.
Jim was found stray (how?) and underweight. The shelter reached out to us for help as Jim had an abnormal walk. Although he wasn't painful, he would sometimes high-step his back feet and seemed clumsy. Jim's exams were normal and his x-rays showed no skeletal abnormalities. It's possible that Jim once had a spinal injury that has since healed. It's also possible that nothing is wrong with Jim and he just walks a little funny. Once you see Jim catapult himself over tables/boulders/other dogs, you'll realize that nothing slows Jim down.
The shelter suspected Jim to be about 6 years old. We think he may be closer to 2; he just had an abnormal amount of tartar when we took him in. Jim's had his teeth cleaned so his smile now matches his personality.
Jim is a tremendously fun dog. He's never met anyone or anything he didn't like. Jim loves other dogs, is great with cats, and is good with children. However, Jim is a dork and needs a bit of work on his manners. He is learning not to jump on people. Although coming a long way, this may be annoying to little kids that are easily knocked over.
At home, Jim is crate and potty trained. He can be trusted off leash and, like most retrievers, can play fetch for hours. Jim is snuggly, funny and generally an A+ dog.
Jim is going to be a lucky someone's soul-dog. Is that you?
